Roland Rat is a puppet character created by David Claridge in 1983. He appeared as a contestant on The Weakest Link Children's Hosts Special and Weakest Link Puppet Special.

In most of his appearances, Roland voted for the contestants that were eliminated from each round as the Weakest Link, often giving them hilarious nicknames like "Mr. Ball" for Johnny Ball, "The Lepers" for The Leprechauns, "Jackson And Pollock" for Jelly and Jackson, and "The Nobster" for Nobby the Sheep. Nobby made a hilarious nickname too, which was "The Ratster".

In The Children's Hosts Special, he answered almost all of his questions correctly in the first three rounds, except at the fourth round and was the worst player in that round. He was voted as the Weakest Link by Phillip Schofield, Angellica Bell, Kirsten O'Brien and Johnny Ball, while he voted for Johnny Ball who called Roland Ratty in return. As a result, Roland Rat was eliminated from the game after four rounds.

In The Puppet Special, Roland managed to survive in 8 rounds. He and Soo were the last two remaining contestants in the game. During the final round, Roland was on the verge of winning £11,500 for his charity until he gave a wrong answer to his fifth question (Egypt bordered by countries), and another in Sudden Death (Operation Pied Piper), and instead walked away with no money.
